Keynote Speaker: Ed Mendelowitz, PhD

Ed Mendelowitz received his doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley where he worked closely with the preeminent psychotherapist, philosopher, and author Rollo May. He serves on the Honorary Board of Advisors for The Humanistic Psychologist and the Existenz Executive Council for the Karl Jaspers Society of North America.  His writing explores the commingling of psychology and narrative with art, literature, music, film, religion, philosophy, and, importantly, science. His book, Ethics and Lao-Tzu, has been called “an extraordinary moral narrative” by child psychoanalyst Robert Coles and “a compendium of wisdom from an astonishing variety of sources” by psychoanalyst and author Allen Wheelis. Ed is a recipient of the Rollo May Award for “independent and outstanding pursuit of new frontiers in humanistic psychology” and author of the Rollo May Consortium on SubStack. He’s a lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts Medical School and resides in Greater Los Angeles with his wife, Khanh, and daughter, Miryam.
