Lisa Vallejos, PhD

Dr. Lisa Vallejos is an Associate Professor at Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health; Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling. Vallejos is the author of “Shattered: How everything came together when it all fell apart” as well as many journal articles & book chapters. Dr. Vallejos has served on the Society of Humanistic Psychology as a student board member, as Member at Large, and as the APA conference chair for two years. Dr. Vallejos is the founder or Gabriel’s Gift, a federally recognized 501©3 nonprofit organization designed to assist families whose child has a congenital heart defect. Dr. Vallejos is a co-founder and President of The Humanitarian Alliance and serves on the board of RMHCPA as a founding member and chair, along with service on the board of University Professors Press. Dr. Vallejos has also served on the editorial review board for the Journal of Humanistic Psychology as well as the Counseling and Family Therapy Scholarship Review. Dr. Vallejos is a recipient of the Rollo May scholarship at Saybrook University as well as the recipient of the Dissertation with Distinction, awarded to one student whose dissertation shows exemplary scholarship.

 Along with her work in academia and as a scholar, Dr. Vallejos has been interviewed by publications such as CNN, Latina Magazine, The Denver Post, and Allure Magazine. Dr. Vallejos is a published artist, poet and frequent contributor to various mainstream media platforms. Dr. Vallejos has had a number of pieces go “viral” and has a monthly reach of approximately 100k individual hits to her various medias.
