H. Luis Vargas, PhD, is ranked as Full Professor of Family Therapy in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions at Regis University. He earned the AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado. Additionally, Dr. Vargas is Founding Editor of the Counseling and Family Therapy Scholarship Review – an open-access and peer-reviewed journal.  

He has 31 years of combined professional consulting experience. For 14 of those years, he worked as a multi-licensed financial consultant. Currently, he has 17 years of full-time core faculty experience, teaching and supervising systemic therapists. Over the years, he accumulated extensive knowledge of systemic psychotherapy and developed a strong appreciation for humanistic and existential therapy approaches.

Dr. Vargas has served on the Board of RMHCPA since 2016.
